Analysis of the Vehicle Stock


The visualization shows the average age of vehicles based on the 2009 NHTS Survey. Urban and Rural areas above are based on 2007 Core-Based Statistical Areas (CBSA). Rural areas are defined as the difference of Urban areas in a particular state and the boundary definition of that state. Areas in grey on the map represent areas where there is no data. White areas represent regions considered to be outside of the urban or rural area definition as the case maybe.

Analysis of Daily Trips by Trip Purpose & Time of Day



The visualization shows the trip purpose and trip distribution based on the 2009 NHTS Survey. Urban and Rural areas above are based on 2007 Core-Based Statistical Areas (CBSA). Time period definitions are as follows: AM Peak is from 6AM to 9AM, AM Shoulder is from 9AM to 10 AM, Mid-day starts at 10 AM to 3 PM, PM Shoulder is from 3PM to 4PM, PM Peak 4PM to 7PM, Early Evening 7PM to 8PM, Late Evening 8PM to 10PM and night time from 10PM to 6AM.
